INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Today we celebrate and give thanks for those who made our freedoms attainable.

Any kind of short burst of patriotic poetic explosion will be appreciated today.

Here, we do it in Fourteen lines or less!

  1. FANFARE

    Dusk has fallen
and the call of Taps rings true.
    Day is done and our
    Independence remains secure
    for one more year.
The skies darken and the first
    volley is placed.
    Evening laced with bursts of
    color and light, brightly;
    explosions in barrage
    preceding every sparkle,
    freedom’s torch ignited -
    twilight's last gleaming
    shines bright; nightly!

  2. STARS AND STRIPES

Seven stripes of red bars on Old Glory signify the blood
shed by those brave soldiers who gave their lives so we
could be free and not enslaved as many nations in
the world today. It remains the greatest sacrifice
one can make to keep America free. It is an act of love:
no tyrant can lay claim to the heart and soul of us.

Six stripes of white bars represents the purity
of America’s intentions when engaged in acts of war
to not allow the white to be sullied with selfish motives
but rather with a noble conviction that all should be free,
that all citizens take pride in the nation that they love.
The memory of all Americans is woven in this flag.
